Sestrière
Arrow
Sitting at 6676 feet, Sestrière is located about an hour from the city of Turin. It is situated between two valleys, Susa and Chisone, and is a part of the 249 miles long Via Lattea, known as the “Milky Way” ski area.

The two hotel towers that dominate the skyline have become the symbol of the village. They were built in the 1930s by FIAT’s founder Giovanni Agnelli to provide a holiday retreat for the workers in the FIAT factory down in Turin.

Via Lattea Resort (the Milky Way)
Arrow
Sestrière is high and northwest facing which has helped give the resort excellent snow conditions over the years. The skiing is mainly on one side of the valley however on the other side there is a link which takes you to the top of Mount Fraiteve from where you get stunning panoramic views taking in the whole of the Milky Way. From here you have the choice of either dropping into Sauze d’Oulx or SanSicario. Beyond SanSicario there is Cesana, Clavier and eventually Montgenèvre across the border in France.

All levels of skier should find something to satisfy them in Sestrière and the neighboring resorts. There is steep terrain and off-piste for advanced skiers, an endless amount of piste for intermediates and good slopes to learn on for beginners. The lift system is continually improving with the majority of lifts being high speed quads. The wonderful thing about Sestrière is that lift queues don’t really exist except for weekends and.

Lift Tickets
Arrow
A 6 day pass or more will entitle you to the Italian resorts of the Via Lattea and one day in Montgenevre, France. Extensions for Montgenevre can be purchased from the ski pass office in Sestrière. Multi-day lift tickets must be used on consecutive days.

Below is the rack rate for 2012-13 lift tickets. I believe we can get a better deal as a group. We will also look into the cost of a senior rate (60-75) – believed to be about half price. Skiers older than 75 ski for free.
